Top 7 fantasy fair style ideas
On April 20 and 21, the gates of the grounds around Kasteel de Haar in Zuilen will swing open again as a fantasy fans' paradise. Elfia started as the Elf Fantasy Fair, where Succubus was also a permanent exhibitor for many years from 2006 (already 17 years ago).
Whether you are a loyal fan or a newbie (because of course you are not going as a tourist), the question remains: But...What to Wear? Then read on, because here you have 7 nice outfit ideas for the upcoming Elfia edition!
Victorian inspired
Victorian clothing remains rightly popular, full of riding coats, corsets, lace-up boots (or secretly just Dr. Martens), long skirts and elegant blouses. Even as a fan of Steampunk, you are in the right place, just how you complete the look with accessories. Both our darkware brand Punk Rave and Orchid Bloom are perfect for this, and you can also wear them next week, isn't that nice?
Comic Cosplay
Fantasy is broad and comics and cosplay are (fortunately) indispensable! Cosplayers dress up with great dedication as their favorite characters from comics, films, books and games. Our Comic collection? Loungefly of course, with their cheerful bags, backpacks, crossbody's and wallets inspired by your favorite franchise. Do you want to have things guarded by Smurfette, Bambi or Hello Kitty? Add matching Retro Movie shirts and you are ready.
Fairycore or Cottagecore
Bring out your inner elf with Fairycore or Cottagecore, appropriately Elfia, right? Relaxed silhouettes, asymmetrical hems, fairytale jewelry... Elf wings optional 😉 As an elf-to-be, you can find eye-catching mushroom prints from LA Soul and playful silouettes from Killstar at Succubus. Add fairytale jewelry from Fable England and you are the fairytale...
Scottish influences
A true Elfian completes his or her looks with a touch of Tartan & Tweed! The bags from Glen Appin of Scotland are not only a feast for the eyes, but also large enough for a bottle of Mead, which is very handy!
Exciting shoes
There are two options for shoes: nice and practical with Dr. Martens or a whole fantasy world of its own with Irregular Choice and Hot Chocolate Design! Boots and pumps with jaw-dropping designs, so that no matter how good the costumes around you are, people will still keep staring at your feet: and rightly so!
Gothic
If all that cute elf stuff bothers you, go for the dark Gothic look! A real goth would rather dress up as the evil witch than as the beautiful maiden, wear a lot of black and opt for striking make-up and accessories. At Succubus, all dark divas have been able to go to Killstar for years, who have always managed to release the best gothic clothing. Alchemy Gothic jewelry is classics, with their necklaces, earrings and rings. 'I'll stop wearing black when they make a darker color!'
Samurai
Inspired by Animé, you can spot a samurai on Elfia, inspired by traditional Japanese clothing, mixed with hints from well-known Animé series. At Succubus we have a breathtaking collection of kimonos from One Hundred Stars, Market of Stars and Aratta, which after Elfia you can also wear over trousers, a dress, or simply lounge in at home. Never too much!
